Maproom

The public Maproom source code found on this site is no longer updated. However Maproom is still under development at NOAA. If you are interested in newer versions of Maproom, please contact Chris Barker.

Maproom is a high-performance 2d map viewer and editor, written with wxPython and PyOpenGL. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

Maproom currently supports loading the following file formats:

• NOAA KAP nautical charts
• GeoTIFF raster files
• NGA DNC files
• NOAA Verdat bathymetry/shoreline files
• BNA shoreline files
• ESRI shapefiles
• Triangle library poly/node files
• Maproom vector files

And Maproom can save the following file formats:

• NOAA Verdat bathymetry/shoreline files
• BNA shoreline files
• Maproom vector files
• PNG
• JPEG
