A good solution to this would be to get rid of the dinosauric verbal descriptions and just allow us to substitute %colourcodenumber, or even § directly, which is never a real problem to paste in, and would reduce messing about with this kind of thing.

It is already possible to just use § directly. Always has been, AFAICT.
