Jump-placing blocks in spawn lets players go up

Issue #5 resolved
Stefan Steinheimer created an issue

I just found someone jumping and placing blocks inside the spawn protection to move himself upwards. The blocks disappeared, but he he still moved up, as if flying, but he was standing on a ghostly pillar that didn't exist for anyone else.

So physics aren't being reapplied after the block placement is canceled perhaps? I think this might have happened in the past but I'm not sure.

Not a bug with lionsarea - client bug.

This is simply a lag effect - the client thinks the block is there because it thinks it placed it, and it takes a certain amount of time for the server's update (saying there's no block there) to override it.

Since it's abuse of a client bug, we treat it like any other cheat client; it's effectively flymod. Warn them once to desist and that it is bannable. There's nothing any protection system can do to prevent this as i understand.
