A Toshiba HCI driver for Linux systems; it enables the brightness control hotkeys and battery status monitoring. It also allows you to define actions for the user-definable hotkeys. I wrote this back in 2004, and I don't know if current toshiba models even implement HCI anymore; I just wanted to get the code out there.
