In section 5.2 there is text saying

"How JP accepts these unprotected frames is discussed in Section 6."

but this same thing also applies to the section 5.3.1 too. I.e., the Join request from the pledge to JP is also unauthenticated and unencrypted.

Perhaps that should be noted also there.
