"Instant Text" Button

Issue #31 closed
Enthalpy created an issue

It is proposed that a button be added to set the text to instant, as a shortcut for applying "instant" tags to the text, similarly to the color system.

If implemented, the following would need to be discussed:

  • What, if any, automated ways there would be to remove the instant tags.

  • Where it would be in the editor, and what it would look like.

  • How this would be stored in trial-data. Will we have a new "instant" key for frame rows?

How about instead, it would be more like flash shake and pause as in it creates the tags themselves in the textbox?

Or, it could be an option in the text speed box (1=normal, >1=faster, <1=slower, 0=instant)

    Fixed the bullet points.

In response to AceAttorneyMaster, enclosing all current text in the instant tags would be a possible implementation, but not one I like. I assume that the purpose of this suggestion is to make all the text instant. In that case, it's not "part of the dialogue," like inserting a pause would be, but a property governing how the frame's dialogue works, like the text_colour attribute is. If implemented, it seems more sensible to create another key for frame rows.

As for letting text speed of 0 be instant, that seems confusing. As the text speed gets closer and closer to zero, it takes more and more time for text to load. So when the text speed is at zero, as close to zero it can get, it now takes the least possibly amount of time for the text to load? Sounds counterintutiive.
