Make "Last Displayed" Character Stay upon Position Collapse

Currently, when a player moves from a place with multiple positions to a place with only one "real" position, only the character at the left position carries over to the new place. It is proposed that instead, the last displayed character keep its place, and all other characters be purged.

Demo trial here. Only on the last courtroom frame is Gant preserved from a multi-place position after going to black.
