Fix escape characters not working in Expressions

See issue reported here. I don’t know what the purpose of these lines I commented out were supposed to be, but removing them fixes the issue and didn’t break anything upon testing. There is still no way to use an escape character to escape another escape character rather than just ' or “, but that doesn’t appear to be functionality that ever existed, so as far as the bug goes, it would be fixed, and that feature could be developed separately at a later time if it’s desired.
