Can you attach the application log file please ? Meanwhile I see that you have both ISOMENU and DVDMENU set to Y, you should only activate one at once.

Changed ISOMenu to N , ran dvd, selected game, Xbox Orb,Y and Y goes back to Play DVD

Recreated XSO & XSK for drive using XkeyBew - rettempted to do the above - unsuccessful.

Log above attached without game image files referenced.

    Thanks for the log.

You can combine both options (ISOMENU & DVDMENU) but I think it's best to only use one at once.
I've read that it can mess with the web interface.
But anyway, it was just an advice ;-)

Regarding your issue, well.. nothing wrong in the log.
Creation of the XSO & XSK went fine (and you can load the dvd on tv so that means it's ok).

To help me clarify a bit :

    • are you testing the same game every time ?
    • it is the same with every game ?
    • have you tried the first game ?
    • are you using the same hdd for dvd-menu creation and xkey ? (file paths must be identical)
    • have you tried another theme ?
    • have you got XKeyBrew working before ?

I know it can be a lot of question but it will be very helpful for me
    Thanks!

are you testing the same game every time ? No, tests have been random over 4 or 5 different games out of a possible 70 it is the same with every game ? Over the 4 or 5 tested at this stage, yes have you tried the first game ? No are you using the same hdd for dvd-menu creation and xkey ? (file paths must be identical) Yes have you tried another theme ? Have used Ayala Grey and XKeyBrew have you got XKeyBrew working before ? No, prevously used stable version of DVDMenu without problems, had tryed using beta of DVDMenu, however would always error when running DVD styler.

Will test every game against every theme this weekend.

It's not necessary to test every game and/or every theme.

Just to give you an idea of what's going on:

    • XSO is the dvd-menu (ie. the iso file renamed with an xso extension)
    • XSK is a key/value mapping file (keys are dvd-menu sectors and values are game iso path on the hdd)

When you are exiting the dvd-menu, the xkey will retrieve the sector you were on, look in the XSK file for that key and get the value (= the game path to load).

Like I said earlier I think we can put aside the XSO part (ie. the dvd-menu) because it's working fine on tv (you can navigate, select and so on).
If you are redirected on the dvd-menu every time, it may be a problem with the XSK (paths not correct) or with the XKEY (not able to properly read the XSK).

To begin: a simple test would be to use just one game with any particular theme.
When it will be working for that game it should work fine with all.
If it doesn't work with that one then we should find why.

You can also try with the old dvdmenu (should work fine with one game).
If it's working with it, it means the problem reside in XKeyBrew and not the Xkey itself.

    Keep me posted ;-)

tried moving iso from within folder so iso sat directly in games folder e.g F:/Games/xboxgame.iso , reran xbrew and created new .xsk & xso files - still same issue.

Downloaded old MenuDVD from the following link( I believe it was the stable version, however am unable to locate file version and was struggling to find a site still hosting the file. http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/6280469/file.html#8221

Selected "15banners+Detail_Rev_1.0" ran through 3 steps successfully. Connected to xbox and selected first game - Ejected disc and game loaded and played. I can't find a log file but if you know where this might be located can find and attach.

Can also provide xsk and xso file if required.

I don't know if it's a typo but the game folder name should be in lowercase ('games' not 'Games')

  8. 巴蒂斯Badisi repo owner

That's what I thought because XKeyBrew has a check for that and won't let you proceed if it's not lowercase.

Well.. at this point I really have no clue about what's causing the issue.
If you can provide .xsk, .xso along with .dvds and .odb or even better a zip of the XKeyBrew folder, I will be able to replicate things on my side and try to debug it.

    Thanks

I've tested DVDStyler_2.8.rc2 on Win_8.1 (x64) and I have the same issue as yours.
I know DVDStyler_2.7 and DVDStyler_2.7.2 are working fine on Mac but I have no time to test them on win for now.
Can you try making those tests please ?
    Thanks

I am having the same issue as L4 Wolf. I tried all of the above mentioned, but nothing worked.

@basher13 Are you running on win8.1_x64 too ? have you tried using DVDStyler_2.7 ?

  12. jojo lafrite

Hello I had the same problem with my xbox 360 phosphate

dvd menu has successfully created my stay the games do not start I tried with dvd styler 2.7 / 2.8 before with the old version of the dvd menu walk yet

It's a pity I think this version of the DVD menu a lot better and easier to use than Previous

It's because the .iso and .dvd are in subfolders in the games folder... remove all subfolders, put all .iso and .dvd in the root of the game folder and all is now working... ;-)

  14. Nika Gerson Lohman

Hmmm... I wanted to have them ordered so I can select them easier when using the xk3y selection...hmmm. choices, choices...

  15. 巴蒂斯Badisi repo owner

@nikagl : is @mich5712's workaround working for you too ?
I remember having both 3 platforms working with subfolders so I'm wondering if it's really the problem here.
And @L4Wolf already tried that workaround without luck.

Choices... I know.... but this is temporary ;-)
As you maybe saw on the news section I'm currently working on xbw 2.0 and will be investigating those issues soon.

    Thanks for your reports guys.

  16. Nika Gerson Lohman

@Badisi : yes, that works fine. I tried it by moving just one of the dvd/iso filesets and rebuilt the xsk/xso. For that specific iso/dvd it worked, using another one (in subfolder) it again returns to the menu instead of going to the game...

If you want me to test anything, just drop me a PM. Testing only takes a few minutes :)

    Regards,

    Nika.

Had the same Problem, after selecting game its still wanna play as DVD. Solution, with the .iso and.dvd files in root folder (games) is working, you still can have empty subfolders.

    Greetings

  18. Nika Gerson Lohman

Right. Instead of ordering it per folder, I have now ordered it by numbering the iso&dvd files (01_GameName.iso/01_GameName.dvd, 02_GameName.iso/02_GameName.dvd, etc.). I had also had a subfolder for Kinect games and simply ordered them together with the numbering instead of using the subfolder...

Works as a charm. Anxiously waiting for your next version :)

    Regards,

    Nika.
