DVD Styler Asking for blank DVD - Build then fails

Issue #52 new
Former user created an issue

Hi there. I tried to build a menu following the guide and it fails. DVDStyler asks me for a blank DVD, I click cancel and then the build fails. I have no DVD's to test. it didn't say in the tutorial this was necessary so I'm confused. Any help? Thanks

I had this problem what I did was download the original Xbrew again. If you have made themes just copy the themes folder some where else then delete all the old files and folders and just replace with the files and folders just downloaded. Add your themes back in 1 at a time testing after each theme. If you get the problem again its a problem with the last them you put in the themes folder.

Sorry for the late reply (I completely forgot about this ticket..)

When you are building a menu with DVDStyler you can choose to either save it as an iso image or burn it to a dvd. It's set to "burn" by default, so each time you try to build a menu with xbw, xbw tries to modify DVDStyler settings to make it save an iso image instead.

Regarding your issue I would say that xbw failed to modify DVDStyler settings (maybe due to forbidden file access).

    The solution is to either:

    a) build a menu with xbw and open the generated .dvds file into DVDStyler
    b) create a new project in DVDStyler

    Then:

    • click on the burn icon
    • select the option "create iso image"
    • click on start (to make it save this option for next run)
    • cancel the action
    • close DVDStyler
    • re-run building process with xbw

Hi all, first thanks for all your good work Badisi, i've had the same problem so i suggest people just to desactivate their physical or virtual burners through windows control panel the time to create the menu ,it's work perfectly, so you just have to activate your(s) drive(s) when it's done!!.
