Quarter for Qt5

Description

http://mailman.coin3d.org/pipermail/coin-discuss/2012-December/018472.html

I just updated the most recent source for Quarter so it works with the new Qt5.0.0 version:

ftp://grey.colorado.edu/pub/emergent/Quarter-qt5-12_20_12.tar.gz

There are a few issues on my mac book retina display, and our overall application (http://grey.colorado.edu/emergent ) crashes and has several other weird issues seemingly associated with interfacing Quarter with the rest of the Qt codebase. But our standalone examiner viewer in Quarter example works fine:

ftp://grey.colorado.edu/pub/emergent/quarter_examiner_viewer.tar.gz

Is anyone actually using Quarter? Can I get write access to the bitbucket repository https://bitbucket.org/Coin3D/quarter/overview and just commit cleaned-up versions of the changes? Not sure how that works.. I also have a few other fixes to Coin that I emailed about previously that I could check in.. Cheers,

    Hi Randy,

Yes I use Quarter. I just upgraded to Qt5 as well, but chose to use qmake instead of configure to build. I had to make quite some changes, it looked like an unfinished project. But I expect this to be less divergent with respect to different Qt releases. I have to find time to create a pull request.

About your changes, I expect Coin3D to be maintained again in 2014, so your changes could be pulled. But it looks to me as if you /replaced/ Qt4 with Qt5. I think we would want to support building against Qt4 still, so your changes would have to be modified to work with both.

    Anyway thanks for sharing.

    Bastiaan.
