Wrong measurements with gpu ray sensor

Issue #9 resolved
Former user created an issue

It look like the bug that was fixed with this pull request:

https://bitbucket.org/osrf/gazebo/pull-requests/2955/fix-gpuraysensor-vertical-rays/diff

I've used the current state of this repository and the current state of the gazebo8 branch. Compiled both from sources on ubuntu xenial.

The pull request was merged in the gazebo8 branch at that time.

Do you know any workaround or parameter setting that would help? playing around with the resolution didn't help.

Cpu ray sensor works like a charm, but sadly can't measure animated actors..

See "Known Issues" in the README. The problem is with gazebo, not this ROS node. There isn't anything that can be done to fix it in this ROS node.

I have not personally compiled gazebo from source. There were two people who verified the GPU functionality in pull request #6, and that was with the gazebo7 branch of the gazebo repository. Maybe try gazebo7?
