G8/FACS - Eyeball Issues

Issue #1018 resolved
Midnight Arrow created an issue

Importer v1.6.2.0999

There are some weird issues with Genesis 8 and FACS eyeball controls.

Import a default G8F and FACS morphs, and move the “Eye Look Up-Down” and “Eye Look Side-Side” sliders. The eyelid morphs move in the opposite direction they’re supposed to.

Now convert to Rigify. The same sliders will now rotate the eyes on the global axis not the local. So if the character’s head is tilted, using the up-down slider will cause the eyeballs to rotate globally up-down, not whatever angle the head is tilted to.

I tried with the latest dev build (1022) but that wouldn’t convert to Rigify at all and gave me errors about the model not having gaze constraints.

The rigify crash has been fixed.

The eyelids move in the same direction as the eye, which is correct. The eyes move in the opposite direction as the slider. This is unintuitive but the same as in DS.

I cannot reproduce the global vs local issue in the latest version. But perhaps the last commit fixed that too.

The issue wasn’t that the eyes moved opposite the slider. The slider direction was irrelevant to me. When the eyes rotated left the eyelid morphs rotated right, opposite the way they’re supposed to.

But neither problem exists in 1027, thanks.
