Option to texture paint over geoshell?

Issue #115 closed

I apologize, for constantly coming back with more niche problems, but using geoshell with the following add-ons

  • Futalicious G3F
  • Roasty G3F

with it’s geoshell, imports correctly.

However, i cannot paint over the texture itself in Blender.

The above image is just texture painting over the model directly, just trying to illustrate the problem better, I hope.

This is post-merging geografts, to allow smoother painting/blending of textures.

I was wondering is there a workaround/method to tackle this problem?

The problem is probably that the geografts use multiple uv maps, especially if a geometry shell was added. I’m no specialist on texture painting, but I imagine that it uses the active uv layer, so it will not work on meshes that are laid out for a different uv map.

You could try to join the uv maps into a single one, e.g. with the Merge UV Layers tool (http://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/finishing-section.html). However, that will not work if there is some material that uses several uv maps, which is the case here if I remember correctly.
