How to make Gaze move only the iris/pupil instead of the whole eye balls ?

Hello!

I don’t know if this function exist… but if not it’s just incredible and will be super useful the possibility to move only the iris/pupil with the GAZE not the who eye ball, because to be honest everyone want to move the pupil/iris and not the whole eye ball :)

Thank you so much!

Perhaps you mean if there’s a way to gaze toon eyes, where the eye is not spherical and can’t be rotated, so you need to “rotate“ only the texture instead. Well there is, you can use decals, but it’s a “custom“ rig you make yourself, use two decals for the eyes and parent to a gaze control.

Please note that dforms are not supported, that are typically used for old V3 V4 figures and some toon figures. But dforms can be converted to morphs from the dform panel, or just baked in the dbz if they don’t need to be animated. A typical issue with dforms converted to morphs is that in daz studio the dforms are applied after transforms, thus for example you can make a non-spherical toon eye with dforms, that will not work in blender.

I was studying a way to import dforms but the blender modifiers don’t allow a full implementation, and they’re generally used only in old figures, so I abandoned the idea. May be now with geometry nodes it can be done.
