You may try the latest development version 1.7.0.1280, though 1.6.2 stable should work. Also delete the folders and reinstall clean.

In fact, I took that image trying to activate version 1.6.2 of the plugin, and the same thing happens to me with version 1.6.1, the only version that has let me install is version 1.6.0, please help me, I need to use genesis 9 models.

Your installation must be corrupt in some way. Maybe some old files have not been overwritten. Remove the plugin completely and then make a clean install.

If everything I suggested failed then sorry I have no more advice, may be Thomas can help better.

I had thesame issue on my system, the plugin shows up correctly in the preferences but gives an error when trying to activate.

When I restarted Blender, I could activate the plugin without problems. Suprisingly, the MHX version is still 1.6.1. instead of 1.6.2. , is that correct?

BTW, the error only seems to show up the first time you install this version 1.6.2. of the plugin.

There can be conflicts between versions if they don’t contain exactly the same files. I wrote a blog post how to avoid such conflicts and make a clean install.

Jeroen, indeed I forgot to update the MHX version, which can be seen in the last illustration in the post. But there will be a version 1.7.0 within the not-too-distant future. The main task here is to bring the documentation up to date.

I added a summary to the blog post:

    1. Disable the add-ons.
    2. Quit Blender.
    3. Erase the old add-ons from disk.
    4. Start Blender.
    5. Install the new add-ons from the zip file.
    6. Enable the add-ons.
