reporter It seems I missed a bug.
When the iray translucency weight gets a texture, it has to be used as the mix factor for the translucent bsdf. Actually the plugin seems to ignore it. Below an example first iray then cycles.

repo owner Fixed in latest commit. Also uses the texture to mix the subsurface node if thin walled is off.
