Different skin texture problem

Issue #1352 invalid

Hello, when I import this unmodified character all the textures are good and in their place.

But when I import this same modified character I have a totally different rendering, the skin is brown all over the body and the lips too.

I tried with BSDF import and the other. With HD export and normal export. The result is the same.

Modified character on daz:

The volumetric skin should work fine enough to mimic iray, but there may be differences due to top coat that’s not entirely supported for all modes. The principled options and sss are approximated and expected to be manually tweaked.

But why the rendering is different while the character is the same?
The nodes are almost the same but when I copy/paste them on the brown one nothing changes. (with BSDF import)

That is impossible to guess without a test scene. You can upload a duf file with the material presets if you want. But again don’t expect the blender materials to be always exactly the same as iray, you may need to fix something depending on the material options.

In this case the difference is because the pbr skin is using specular occlusion that is not supported, I have no idea what it does nor it is documented by daz. If you turn off the specular occlusion in iray you’ll get a high specular skin similar to blender.

To reduce the skin specularity you can reduce the dual lobe specular weight, either in daz studio or blender.

note. The specular occlusion is used also for other figures as Victoria 8.1 but in that case doesn’t seem to make much difference so it depends on the skin. I’ll see if I can find out what it does and try to match it in blender but it may take a while. For now it is not supported.

Thank you for the help, I will try some manipulations with the specular on Blender I will tell you if it works.

By reducing (all) the dual lobe speculars directly on Daz, it works! It is specific to the texture of this model on the other hand, the others do not have this problem there.
    Thanks!
