Expressions not accurate

Issue #1395 invalid
Rincewind created an issue

Hey, I just figured out that some expressions might not be accurate when used in Blender.

E.G. Smile Open Full Face (G9) at 100%

has in DAZ these FACS at 75.3%

But if I use the same expression in Blender, they are only at 34%.

I guess more FACS are affected by this issue.

Daz importer currently seems to either ignore controllers completely or interprets them falsely. This results in % being not linearly different compared to Daz. For example “MouthUpperUpRight” has a 54,8% value in Daz with “Smile Open Full Face” at 100% and in Blender 0.340 (34%).
Mouth Smile Widen Right 75,3% in Daz and 0.340 in Blender (34%).

I get the same result as you in Blender, but that is also what I get in DS.

Indeed, this seems to happen when there is Victoria 9 dialed in.

Victoria9 head morphs seem to have some controls which are ignored by Diffeo.

Is this intended or a bug?

Victoria morphs are not loaded by the standard import button. You need to use Import Custom Morphs for that.

    Makes sense.

    I did the now following:

Load G9 as base figure to Blender (easy import with all FACS)

Loaded Vic 9 Head and Body as custom mesh.

But facs_bs_MouthSmileWidenLeft is still at 0.34 instead of the expected .753.

And another issue occurred. After I transferred the Vic9 head morph also to the G9 brows, they where deformed:

nvm… the issue with the brows was a usage mistake from my side.

But the issue that the expressions are still off when the vicotria 9 morph is loaded still persists.

You have to export Victoria 9 as dbz then load the custom morphs, including jcms. Same for any figure if you want the exact figure morphs, but usually the standard morphs do fine enough.

You must import both the standard facs expression SmileOpenFullFace and the custom morph Victoria9_facs_ctrl_SmileOpenFullFace. When you change the former the final value of the victoria morph will follow, and together they drive the shapekeys to the right values. If you load the morphs with Make Hidden Sliders enabled and turn on Show Final Values, you can see that the final value of the victoria morph follows the standard morph.
