Face Units not posing correctly if genital rigs are merged before import

Hello, my most recent issues with the tongue Face Units have been solved by using the newest dev build, however I’ve noticed an issue when with the tongue face units if either the Golden Palace or Futalicious rigs are merged with the G8F rig before importing Face Units.

I’ve attached a blend file showing how these look.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Easy Import G8F with either Golden Palace or Futalicious.
  2. Enable Face Units

Steps to “fix” - not sure if this introduces other issues or not.

  1. Easy Import G8F with either Golden Palace or Futalicious.
  2. Disable Merge Rigs
  3. Enable Face Units
  4. Merge rigs after import

I’m not sure if that’s the intended workflow for these geografts, neither of them introduces any new bones into the face or tongue area so I’m not sure where the problem could be.

    Actually there’s a reason for some tools being in the finishing section, it means you can’t do other operations after, so merge geografts is intended to be done at the end after the figure is complete with all the morphs. If you are unsure what you need then better save a backup first.

    note. You can uncheck “merge geografts“ in easy import.

    I see, I thought all of the rigs had to be merged at the start before importing any morphs? The geografts meshes aren’t merged at this point, only the rigs.

    @Realium You’ve to import morphs first and before you merge with the geografts, transfer the necessary shapekeys to the geografts. For example you have a fullbody morph, you need to transfer that one to the genitals.

    @Maneki Thank you for looking at this. I understand about the shapekeys for the geograft meshes, the issue comes from these geograft armatures. If they are merged into the main armature before importing face units then they do not pose correctly. I thought the armatures (not the meshes) had to be merged before any morphs were imported so that the drivers are assigned to the correct armature. I didn’t think we were supposed to import any of the morphs before merging the armatures (not the meshes).

    I can confirm the issue. For example “tongue curl” doesn’t work fine with golden palace, didn't test other morphs or other geografts. The issue is related to merging rigs.

    steps:

    1. import G8F with golden palace and merge rigs
    2. import face units and check “tongue curl“

    2. import face units and check “tongue curl“
