There are some problems with knee rotation under Rigify.

I am new to Blender and I don't know how to describe it, but this problem is not in MHX.

I know that "Optimize Pose For IK" can solve this problem, but I really need to import poses from Daz.

    The poles only work fine with Optimize pose for IK. This is a known issue with rigify and not a bug. Otherwise you can use Improve IK without using poles in rigify. That is, it is not mandatory to use poles in rigify, you can use the Thigh IK instead (the big arrows on the legs).

    note. Things may improve if we find a way to use “Subtract rest pose” with rigify, so “Optimize pose for IK” would be compatible with daz poses. But for now it doesn’t work, see #1445.

    note for Thomas. We may want to add in the Improve IK tooltip that rigify poles may not work, depending on the bending angles of the daz figure. Also we may want to set Optimize pose as default instead of Improve IK, because Optimize pose is the only one working for the full rigify features including poles.

    • Optimize pose for IK (as default) better tooltip: “Prebend the metarig as required by rigify. This is not compatible with daz poses.“
    • Improve IK better tooltip: “Avoid IK flipping by storing bending angles. This is compatible with daz poses but rigify poles may not work. Not necessary if Optimize pose for IK is used.“
