Face Cap recommendations?

Hello friends, I am having a wonderful time with Diffeomorphic. Apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place.

I have played with the Face Cap sample file for FACS and I’m really excited about how good the result looks.

Hence I am planning on buying an iPod pro for the sole purpose of using Face Cap.

Coming from the non-Apple world, I’m wondering about any gotchas, problems associated with IPod that I should know about before purchasing one. I’m looking at refurbished ones and I can find one for $600 or so.

I understand I need to have an Apple ID to set up the iPad; but never having used one I’m concerned about finding unexpected issues.

If anybody here can offer advice/warnings/heads up, I would be extremely grateful.
