Are we able to setup Rigify or MHX with Genesis 2 characters?

So out of the blue I decided to rig a Genesis 2 character with Diffeo (I remember Thomas saying a while ago that at the time

wasn't possible because of TriAx weights or something, but there is an option in the metarig for recalculating thigh and shin bone

rotations for Genesis 1, 2 and 3). So I tried, and then it threw an error message when I went to create a Rigify metarig:

So I am assuming this is a no, but why is this option available for metarig creation in Rigify setup then? Just curious.

(Also note that I marked this as a bug in the unlikelyhood that it may be, if we are able to use Genesis 1 and 2 normally).

    I can confirm that rigify doesn’t work with G1 G2. Works fine with G3 G8 G9. As for mhx and simple ik they work fine so it’s only rigify.

    For Jasper this is a bug rigify is supposed to work with G1 G2. As for triax it’s the deformations that will not be the same as daz studio, an approximation is used instead.

    Hey Thomas, tried the newest commit and Rigify and MHX both work for G1 and G2 now--however before closing this ticket for good I just want to say that generating a metarig for Rigify still does NOT work: Blender 7_17_2023 5_33_10 AM.png

    can someone else confirm? or is there a reason why a metarig can’t be generated for G1/G2?

    Just tried last commit, fix is confirmed, thank you Thomas--before finally resolving this ticket I just have a question--do G1/G2 have face bones? I don’t usually use G1/G2 so I don’t know, and when generating the rigify rig I noticed there are no face bones.

    No G1 G2 don’t have face bones nor jcms, they work with shapekeys and triax. You can see it in daz studio with “show bones“.
