Render has dark line where two materials meet up

I’ve attached screenshots of the diffeo generated materials (using 1.7.1)
The one thing I notice is these materials do not have a diffuse texture, could this be the cause?

Yes, this is a new blender limitation by design from 3.3 up, not considered a bug by the blender guys. 3.2 and below work fine.

Nevermind, apparently it’s a known Blender issue they expect us to use a single material for volumes O.o
