Getting all these errors trying to import Victoria eight point one into blender with easy import D A Z

Issue #1753 resolved
Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz created an issue

I don't know if you can figure out what the issue is so give me a little clue I just basically you know added default Victoria 8.1’s all the tattoos and the top up do hair you know basically the latest default character and got all these errors I use kind of an arbitrary set of clothes not really related to the model in general at least in the example renders they give on DAZ 3D… Any help on this is appreciated…

I can’t reproduce the issue here, Victoria 8.1 with tattoos loads and renders fine. There’s a minor issue with the texture mode that I reported in #1754. Again, may be this is a bug specific to your own modifications of the addon and if so it can’t be fixed here.

You may want to provide exact steps. Or we close as invalid if we can’t reproduce the issue. Or may be Thomas can guess from the reported error.

  2. Thomas Larsson repo owner

I cannot reproduce this either, but looking at the code it is quite clear what happened. It shouldn’t happen anymore.

  3. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

I went to bed before I thought to post this. But it was Victoria 8.1 's tattoos. I removed them and imported and everything was fine…. So did you make a fix to the latest development build Can I import Victoria 8.1 with all her tattoos now? …. And thank you so much for replying And just for note, I made improvements to my multiple light panel. If you guys still have the link and you wanna check it out?

then you can experience just How fast you could set up perfect lighting using it? Just note I made some adjustments to the nudge. So it's even better and works with point lights now. For my next update thats coming soon….. And note the nudge value isn't universal for ever slider…I'm trying to figure that part out….So for power, its a small nudge value. for close up shots and for diffuse. It would be a large nudge value for close up shots…. But you get whisper thin adjustments to all your light settings. And that would be good if it was available for every slider that you guys offer, just like DAZ has….and like always, I'm not looking for anything. Just maybe a mention if you like it or you can use it….. Note the nudge value also applies on my transform panel. I just made and makes moving objects perfectly quickly….a 100% perfect every time….super easy…… I'd recommend adding that as well….. Yeah, i'm just a natural born inventor I come up with these ideas like all the time…. But try the nudge on the color picker on my panel…And then think about possibly adding that to all your DAZ shader nodes because of how easy it would be to make perfect adjustments every time… In editing my lighting yesterday. I was playing with the color picker nudge and got the most perfect reds you could imagine…. ….sorry for the long one but you know. I think having a universal nudge like DAZ has is worth it this time.🙂👍

For a test situation if you guys have HDRI Maker, … just bring in a DAz character and add my multiple lights set up, and then with the nudge value. You could fine tune….and match your DAZ character to the HDRI background perfectly and notice you could do it so well that you don't even have to edit materials anymore you could just use the default settings you could just edit the lights and render…and then realize how perfect how important easy to implement perfect lighting really is…. Again, if like….a mention….is all I ask…….or a “Junior Diffeomorphic Developer” Plaque for my Desk…🤣

  5. Alessandro Padovani

Yes you can get the latest commit with the fix as usual. As for lights, diffeomorphic is a daz importer, and lights from daz studio are imported fine. Other tools are beyond the purpose of the addon, furthermore there’s plenty of addons to deal with lights in blender.

If there’s nothing to add we can close as resolved.

  6. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

i meant..just the basic idea of a nudge I was thinking you could test it using the lights for the example here's my latest version…( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15OtnywF0Hc-DzmvMTbxMY-SajvIz2rO0?usp=sharing )…and then think about applying this same type of nudge when you see how intricate you could edit your materials …………..to the daz nodes that you create in the shader editor or other items like morphs it would be so awesome if setting morps had this kind of nudge it's way better when you don't have to keep going up to the keyboard trust me…. Main thing is you've learned from D A Z studio in nearly ever regard but the only thing that's missing is the D A Z studio nudge… check out this render I made this was like in two or three slider moves like less than a minute to adjust the lighting for Victoria 8.1 I didn't even edit the materials those are default materials….. I mean as far as getting fine intricate adjustments n blender even pressing shift and moving a slider value is still leaves something to be desired compared to my system I mean this helps you get really really intricate results fast without having to focus and guess you could just move a slider after setting the nudge and move it exactly perfectly every time and then you know implementing this kind of feature would make better professionals…. Out of the people that use/rely on your add on...

  7. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

And if you guys haven't already it's a really awesome experience to output audio in a folder next to A PNG sequence when you render out the animation I haven't really tested your viewport render operator …. I like it because you could still use the interface… but if it doesn't have that …note… that's a really good experience to have that…

  8. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

Just a note I don't know if it's relevant but I opened up my animation file that I saved after I make every pose preset the DUF file and when I just opened it back up in DAZ all those tattoos were showing up as gray so her arms were gray or neck was gray or back was gray so this might not even be your issue

  9. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

I did remove the tattoos so maybe I saved the post preset from that file I don't see them in the scene tab… kind of late but this might help

  10. Alessandro Padovani

Again, diffeomorphic is an importer for daz studio, it gets the daz lights as they are in daz studio. Then there are already other blender addons to handle lights in different ways.

  11. Joe Morris @ FAST Animation Studio Toolz reporter

I was talking a nudge for everything. Because people don't have a nudge across-the-board in blender…so if you added a nudge for shader nodes….. Then you could bring the d a z experience more to blender the users….I was just using the lights as a for instance. So you could have something to try that had a nudge in Blender… Anyways thanks for your help …. I really appreciate how prompt you guys are… You really put a lot of care into this
