Using Transfer Vertex Groups throws an error

Issue #1865 resolved
Jasper29 created an issue

‌ Blender 4.0.1 Diffeomorphic v1.7.3.1938 (sorry Bitbucket won’t let me hit ‘Enter’ to next line for some reason) I was setting up a character with clothing and get this error when transfering vertex groups:

Steps to recreate: Step1: import figure and clothing Step2: rig character (Rigify in my case) Step3: select clothing, then character rig and select ‘change armature’ in Corrections tab. Step4: select clothing then character mesh and select ‘transfer vertex groups’ under Mesh subtab under Advanced Setup tab. NOTE: The error comes up everytime, however it does still transfer the vertex groups to the clothing and they seem to be fine, just don’t know why the error appears. Because of this I will label this Issue as minor. Also, I only tried this with G8F and Rigify.

I believe your steps are wrong or I can’t understand them. Usually we merge rigs, then transfer, then rigify. You seem to first rigify without merging then transfer, that I don’t think is supposed to work, but better wait for Thomas to check. With the correct steps everything works fine, easy import works fine too.

As for newline you have to click under the text. I agree Bitbucket has become very clunky, here it is also extremely slow to load the side bar.

I don’t see this bug, probably because I’m still using Blender 4.0.0. But the error message tells me to replace "np.float" with "float", which is done in the last commit.

I have also noticed that Bitbucket doesn't allow line breaks anymore. To avoid that I prepare the post in a text editor and cut-and-paste.

I apologize I did not make something clear that could make a big difference-- this is for clothing that is imported separately.

The character is set up first, then the clothing is applied--this is done as you know because too many outfits imported over at once causes performance issues,

as well as this is done for when the occasion arises to add new outfits to already set-up characters (IMHO the duplicate mesh template procedure from the wiki is a

little tentative and unnecessary). I also tried it the way Alessandro said and it still gave me this error.

EDIT: I just tried the latest commit Thomas and it works like a charm, no more error--Thank you.
