custom morphs on geografts don't work anymore ?

Issue #1897 resolved

It seems that we can’t load custom morphs on geografts anymore, I get a “fingerprint“ error. This is limited to manual import of custom morphs while daz favorites with easy import works fine. The custom morphs on the figure work fine too, this is limited to geografts.

steps (doesn’t work, both blender 3 and 4):

  1. import g8f with golden palace, merge rigs, do not merge geografts
  2. select the geograft and import some custom morphs, we get the fingerprint error

steps (works fine, both blender 3 and 4):

  1. easy import g8f with golden palace, using daz favorites

Yes, as already noted in the description, the bug is limited to importing custom morphs by hand, easy import works fine. Thank you.

No it is my fault, I was selecting the png icons instead of the dsf files. Thank you ProMax for testing this out. Closing as invalid.

Ok I found it, this is also reported in the daz forum. There’s a python crash when the user selects the armature instead of the mesh.

For easy of use, it would be better to check that the user selects the dsf file and the mesh object, instead of the png icon or the armature object, then warn. Or handle both. Please note that the png icon may not be in the same folder as the dsf file.

Selecting the png icon generates the fingerprint error as reported above.

Selecting the armature generates the index error.

    steps (doesn’t work):

    1. manual import g8f with golden palace, do not merge rigs, do not merge geografts
    2. select the golden palace rig and import a custom morph

    steps (works fine):

    1. as above but selecting the golden palace mesh

Both the crash and the confusing png files have been fixed now. Normally there shouldn’t be any icons close to the morph files, because they are located somewhere under the /data directory which isn’t displayed in DS. For other tools like Import Pose or Easy Import, showing the icons makes sense because they are located in the same directory as the duf or dsf files themselves.
