G9 - specific GP Morph Combo Breaks Geograft

Issue #1944 invalid
GeneralProtectionFault created an issue

So after a bunch of trial & error, this is very specific, but seems to be a bug.

Reproduce thus:

  • Create & import just any basic G9 with the Golden Palace geograft (I just used the simple script w/ material transfer)
  • Easy Import DAZ (default everything)
  • Select the G9 Mesh and import Feminine morphs (not ALL of these cause the issue, but the first upper arm one definitely does, if needing to reduce variables)
  • Select the Golden Palace geograft and go to Import Custom Morphs

    • Select the first one in the appropriate meipex folder (this is the ONLY one that causes the issue): BaseFeminine_body_bs_Body.dsf

You’ll see that the gens move upward into the body, and if you merge geografts at this time, they are “embedded” within the body. This slider in DAZ will do this if applied up near/over 100%, so the result is as if the morph is applied fully, however it does not appear to show up in the DAZ Runtime.

Interestingly… If you perform these steps in reverse order, that is, load that custom morph on the geograft first, then load the feminine morphs on the figure, the problem does not arise.

This is not a bug, if you load custom morphs then you also have to transfer them. Otherwise use daz favorites that are transferred automatically with easy import.

Sorry I’m not following, what do you mean by “transfer” them? I usually have no issue loading them onto the geograft, then merging the geograft, then using the sliders in the runtime.

And also, like I said this is only happening in the one specific morph I mentioned, and only if you load the feminine body morphs first. I might not understand the steps, and sorry if that’s the case, but it seems very odd that changing the order of what I do “fixes” it, and only happens on a single morph, whereas the other several dozen work fine.

Maybe it’s because this one does actually move the entire geometry by design. That makes it a bit confusing, I suppose--like if it is then a morph on the geograft or if it’s a morph on the base figure itself 😋

It’s definitely minor, but I’m confused LOL.

I might be misunderstanding what I’m supposed to be doing here, but it has nothing to do with transferring shape keys to clothes. I’m testing with just the figure, hadn’t even gotten to clothes yet.
