Strange thigh deformation upon posing

Issue #2002 invalid
GeneralProtectionFault created an issue

Feel like I saw this is some other issue, but can’t find it if so…

So, I’m not super versed in the JCMs and shape key drivers, but I tried just basics here I think.

Also, someone slap me if there’s documentation on “Import Baked Correctives.” I searched the wiki & blog and got nothing, and I see a JCM post, but it’s from 2018.

Anyhoo, here’s my problem/confusion:

So, I simply did easy import (G9, but it happens on G8 too), then Import Baked Correctives, only JCMs checkbox (I figured maybe that’s where this might have been addressed).

Then, simply posed the DAZ rig as seen in the photo. The thigh does that really weird silly putty effect there.

I get the same result if I convert to Rigify and just do the same thing via IK:

Not sure if that’s just something that we have to manually deal with, but it seems a bit much for a basic pose like that.

I don’t use baked correctives myself and didn’t quite remember what it does. However, it seems to import the character-specific jcms only, so you need to import the base jcms first; there is a checkbox in easy import for that. The custom jcms are added on top of the base jcms.

Ah ok, I also see now I was confused at the button for JCMs being grayed out when I had the armature selected, but I see now I just had to select the mesh.

So I do see a difference there, but personally I still think it looks a little awkward even w/ the JCMs. Feels like it’s doing the right thing, but it could use a little more of whatever it’s doing 😋 . Still looks a bit like her leg adopted a few humpback whale genes 😂 .

So is that simply bringing over the correction from DAZ correctly/unrelated to the addon? If so, then I’ll just deal and see about adding my own corrections or something, I just don’t know how that process works, so worth a mention.

Ok thanks--yeah that’s darn close to what I have too. It still looks a little weird to me, but I tried posing the figure in DAZ Studio and it looks ever so slightly awkward there too, so Imma put it up to disagreeing with DAZ’s JCMs a bit 😋 , doesn’t appear to be related to DIffeomorphic, so I’ll resolve it.
