Textures turns black and white when merging geografts with HD morphs

Issue #2004 invalid
HoneyDonuts created an issue

I tried the geometric edit trick of matching every geograft to the hd mesh subdivision… It did not work. It’s weird because it imports just fine without the geografts but only when I add the geografts it turns to this shyte. In the picture below, the geografts aren’t merged so it’s even more frustrating that I can do shyte with hd importer. I can’t believe there hasn’t been an update for this already!

Just tried Victoria 8 HD with breastacular and she works fine here. You may want to give exact steps. Also please update to 1.7.4 before reporting bugs, since 1.7.3 doesn’t include bug fixes.

    my steps:

    1. in daz studio load Victoria 8 HD and breastacular
    2. enter the geometry editor and export HD to blender
    3. easy import in blender with merge geografts

Ok so after updating it works however some textures are missing. I don't even know what in the world what I'm looking at. Do I need to turn something off?

I even deleted the geografts but it produced the same results. I am using PBR skin shader.

Yea, it’s the PBR. Don’t why it’s doing that but um yea…

    (photo is in Blender btw)

Breastacular is not designed for G81 or the PBRSkin, it only works for G8 with Uber. I mean even in daz studio it doesn’t work. Then there’s ways to make it work with G81 PBRSkin but you have to copy the materials by hand and fix the shell visibility, once you do that it works fine in daz studio and imports fine in blender. Below an example where I fixed breastacular on Victoria 8.1 HD, test scene included.

If there’s nothing to add we can close as invalid.

See that why i’m frustrated because Ik that G8.1 HD will import fine but it's when I want to import a regular G8.1 to HD that gives me the most trouble. For example, I tried to import one of guhzcoituz’s models to HD but it turns out like this.

    importer 1.7.4.2079, blender 4.1.0

Here I don’t have any issue importing your test scene, she works fine. It may depend on your global settings, below it’s mine. Also of course check for any error message, I don’t get any apart missing morphs in daz studio that I don’t have in my library, but they don’t matter for materials.

    my steps:

    1. in daz studio load test.duf, then enter the geometry editor and export as HD
    2. in blender easy import with merge geografts

Anyway, there’s no point exporting non-HD figures as HD, because there isn’t any HD detail to bake. So if you only get the issue with HD then you can export as non-HD and get the same result. The difference is non-HD uses subdivision instead of multires.

If there’s nothing to add we can close as invalid.

Could be my global settings but I’ll have to check first. But yes I do want multires on my models because I notice the difference when the models have vector g and those without it.

Lmfao is there a way to just get the vector morphs without Daz HD importer? I know Xin has a importer but at this point about to give up.

Your content directories seem seriously messed up. Are you sure you have the same in daz studio ? How do you install content ? That may be why you don’t find some textures, but in this case it should be the same for HD and non-HD. Are you sure non-HD works fine ? Do you get any error message ?

Other than that no idea why your own test scene works for me and not for you. But it is a problem on your side, not a bug in the addon.

I mean I can import everything with a regular Daz importer with my directories I don't have an issue with that only HD importer. I don’t know if the system itself can’t find the correct file paths even though it's in the same path but moved to a different hard drive. But I’ll look more into it to see if I can find anything that you can help me out with because daz hd Importer has never worked for me for years and ik it's far from perfect but still.

Closing as invalid since we can't reproduce the issue. I strongly suggest you to come up with a more "standard" directory list, usually you have just one content folder, not gazillions of them across multiple drives.
