Diffeo 1.7.3 appearing as 1.7.2 in Blender 4.1.0

I’m not sure what’s going on, diffeo in general has been acting funky for me lately and i look at my diffeo version its 1.7.2. which is strange cause i just updated both blender and diffeo to 1.7.3 and 4.1.0 respectively. i don’t know what’s going on here and i’m getting various bugs i can’t pin onto a single thing. like one model i have when i move the armature freezes up blender. or i have another model with shapekeys which broke randomly after a certain point… i wish i could share more specifics but i’m a novice at diagnosing these issues so unless i could share the blend files or stream footage of it i’m not sure how to fix this.

one thing i can share is the importer for some reason is also not working on 4.1.0.. probably because of this but i don’t understand why when ever i reinstall it, it still shows up as 1.7.3…

what can i do to start diagnosing this issue? or if possible fix it completely?

sadly factory reset didn’t even fix this issue.

Unfortunately there are various issues for installing diffeomorphic, mainly due to the automatic bitbucket distribution that it seems can’t be changed. You have to do a clean install by hand. Personally I just extract and rename the folders, then place them manually in the blender addons, same as I do with any blender addon, easy and fast.

In any case we are now on 1.7.4, especially for G9 and blender 4 you have to update to report bugs, since older versions don’t get fixes. But I’m pretty sure it’s a issue on your side, again please follow the install procedure I linked above.

It’s “downloads > download repository“ here on Bitbucket on the left menu. Of course.

I’m messing around with it now but it was not labeled as 1.7.4. i’m still feeling like there’s some issues though.. i’ll keep monitoring them but just now i tried using HD export and also some other stuff and i’m getting some strange issues i can’t quite figure out yet…

Did you delete all the old folders first and rename the new folders ? Again you have to follow the installation instructions linked above, or the addon will not install fine.

1. deactivate the old addon in blender
2. delete the old folders
3. unzip and rename the new folders, then place them in the blender addons
4. activate the new addon in blender
