Random empty custom morphs categories created when Importing

Issue #2071 invalid
Miki3d created an issue

Hi there!
After importing a char, some random categories appear in the Custom Morphs panel.
In this example, the only one favorite morph I set in the daz char is imported correctly (Scale Down for Futalicious) but two other empty categories are created (200 plus, shape shift) where no morphs are set as favorites.
It happened with another char, where no favorite morphs are set, but two random and empty categories are created.

Thanks :)

Is seems to me that a similar bug was fixed some time ago, be sure to update to the latest version before reporting bugs.

p.s. Also be aware that scale morphs may not work fine since blender doesn’t support scale maps, an alternative is to use “import DBZ morphs“ in advanced setup to bake the morph.

Ciao Alessandro and thanks for the reply!
I’m already using the latest version but it looks like that bug is still there.
I think that scale morph work on bones so it should not give troubles, anyway thanks for the tip!

Please report exact steps and specifications. Make the steps as simple as possible. What figure are you importing G8 or G9. What products are you using provide a link to the product page. This is a bug report not a chat so try to be precise this saves time both to us and you.

I cannot confirm this issue. I have Futalicious v3.2 for G8F, and no spurious categories are created here, just the futa favorites.

Perhaps you daz database is corrupt. At one point DS always added a lot of Zeddicuss morphs to every G8F I created, even if I didn’t ask for them.

    Hi there!
Sorry Alessandro I’ll try to be more specific, and I did a few more tests.
Looks like the problem is not related to favorites.

    To reproduce the bug:
    - Load a Genesis 8.1 Female figure
    - Use any of the Shape Shift morphs (I used Androgynous Shape for my latest test)
    - Export to blender
    - Import into blender using easy import and flagging only “JCMs” and “Baking Corrective” (it’s the combo that gives the error)
    - An empty Shape Shift categories appears in the morphs section.

    Thanks :)

Yes I can reproduce the issue. In this case the empty category includes one hidden morph, you can see it enabling “make hidden sliders“ in global settings. This morph is 100% when we export from daz studio so it’s baked in the dbz already, thus the slider value in blender is zero that’s correct.

As I understand it in this case we can safely remove the category with “remove categories“ in advanced setup, since the hidden morph is not used, but in general hidden morphs may be used in some conditions. I’m not sure if we could always remove the category when it only includes hidden morphs, or if this can cause issues. @Thomas let us know.

p.s. hide empty categories ? In any case, if the user doens’t “make hidden sliders“, we could hide (not remove, just hide) empty categories the same as we hide hidden morphs, this would be more consistent I guess, if possible. Let us know.

@Thomas let us know if you want to hide empty categories. Otherwise we can close as invalid since this is not a bug, once we know in the empty categories there’s hidden morphs.
