Softbody not working ???

Issue #2088 duplicate
Balkazzaar created an issue

I am sure I am making some mistake in doing this step and this is not an issue I imported a g8f model from Daz into blender and added soft body step.

Can anyone here elaborate on HOW TO use the soft body step? I have tried and manipulated all parameters (goal, edge, self collision) under the physics tab and baked all dynamics every time I changed something, but whenever I played the animation, I did not see any jiggle on the breasts or any part of the body.. 😦

I also followed the below wiki link and the links at the bottom and still not seeing any jiggle on the body. The issue link is too confusing to understand and does not state which step to actually follow

https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/wiki/Advanced/Simulation/Add%20Softbody

Any help is appreciated.

The simulation just run when you play the timeline, there’s nothing to do. Perhaps you imported a model with a breast geograft, if so softbody doesn’t support geografts.

this is still an issue and i dont understand why its now marked as duplicate thinking its resolved.

    • changed status to open

The suggestion to add triangulate modifier did not solve the issue. Issue still exists.

Apologies if I sound like a broken record, but would you care to explain what exactly do you mean by blender limitation? With all the developments and advancements blender has made, I am finding it hard to believe it has limitations now. Is it like some internal memory or variable size limitation?

I would also like to know how is this addon being used by people if it still has physics issues? Are we just supposed to import a very basic Daz model with minimal assets and then work on that? And if i use any other addon for blender physics that needs bones to work with, wont that corrupt the imported DAZ model in blender?

That error doesn’t usually happen with most models. As for explanations see #1921, or google around for more information. Then if you find any solution feel free to contribute thank you. We may also try to file a bug report to the blender team, but this seems a limitation by design.
