IMPORTANT: GUIDELINE FOR BUG REPORTS

Issue #2129 new
Alessandro Padovani created an issue

This is a guideline for bug reports.

please do not post generic questions on blender. This is not the place for generic questions on blender. These are better answered at https://blenderartists.org.

please do not post generic questions on daz studio or how to use the addon. This is a place for bug reports, not for generic questions on daz studio or how to use the addon. These are better answered at https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/blender-discussion.

please provide a test scene and exact steps. It may surprise you, but just telling something doesn't work is not enough to fix a bug, unless it's trivial. The addon is complex so a bug may depend on many factors. You need to provide a test scene in duf format as simple as possible, and exact steps to reproduce the issue. Of course please link the product page of the assets you’re using in the test scene, if any.

please update. Also, and this is very important, you need to use a official stable version of blender, preferably LTS. Unofficial or experimental versions are not supported. Before posting a bug report you also need to update the addon to the latest development version and check if the bug stills there. This is because the development version is the only one receiving bug fixes, the stable version of the addon is not updated after it is released. Of course please state both your blender and addon exact versions in the bug report, also state your OS if different from windows 10/11.

I chatted a little bit w/ Hardwire and he was good with me sharing this here:
    https://sites.google.com/view/unofficial-diffeo/home

From there, anyone who wants to can join the unofficial Discord channel he set up.

Please bear in mind it is unofficial and it does not guarantee anything, but it’s a place where one can reasonably ask questions and discuss stuff before resorting to this bug tracker. Here is also the DAZ Forums thread that references it: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/658526/unofficial-diffeo-discord

@Alessandro even here, amidst other issues, I think it’s likely that this will not be seen immediately by people that have questions.

Would it be possible to pin this to the blog site, or maybe add it as a navigation bar button? I think that is the most public-facing spot. I ran that by Hardwire first as well.

Unfortunately Bitbucket doesn’t provide pins, and the blog or the wiki wouldn’t be the right place. Anyway the open issues are under control, as Thomas is doing a great job addressing them, so this doesn’t need more visibility.
