Add functionality to merge DAZ rigs to MHX/Rigify post converting?
I don’t know if you can do this natively or not, but sometimes I find I need a new outfit or object from daz and i want to merge the rig from that with the existing rig i was working on post converting to MHX, but when i did that once before it didn’t really work well and the dress wouldn’t bend properly at certain points.
Is there functionality with Merge Rigs to merge a new Rig to the MHX rig after converting? Or is that not something implemented yet? Or am I doing this wrong somehow like maybe i need to convert the new clothing’s rig to MHX and then merge the two? I’m unclear on how it works afterwards if there is a method or not at all really.

reporter that sucks, i do have an older iteration but that also means i have to go back and adjust all the outfits and materials i had done from the top. its rather annoying and the workflow is already tedious enough. i’m finding myself having to constantly redo exports from the top like this and it takes up alot of time.

Materials can be copied back if you modified them. Also shapes can be added back easily as shapekeys then applied if you need to. The workflow to rig your figure only as a last step, when everything is in place, is quite common. Professionals always do backups.

reporter i make back ups yeah that’s just obvious. still gotta do it from the beginning ugh. i think just from now on converting the rig will have to be the absolute last thing i do and i’ll need to make any mesh tweaks with shapekeys before the final convertion.

Yes, that’s the idea.

The intended workflow is to backup a daz rig version of the figure. When you need to modify something you do the daz rig, then backup and convert to rigify again.
p.s. Personally I do variations in daz studio then export a blender figure for each variation, that seems much easier to me.
