Question/proposal: custom morphs to affect also attached items not only the base mesh

Issue #250 resolved

First of all, if this was already asked and answered, please excuse (and please point me to the info).

If a “custom morph” is loaded in Diffeo, than it appears as a slider and as a shapekey on the main body mesh. All rigs are merged. The morph works on the body as expected, but the eyelashes, hair, clothes don’t follow the same deformation and everythig is off. It can be fixed in edit mode, but with how much effort… However, this same morph in Daz, when it is applied, does affect immediately the attached items, whatever they are.

(That “custom morph” was created by saving a support asset of type morph in Daz, and it is completely independent from any other morph. But the same happens in Diffeo when the “custom morph” is some vendor character morph.)

Question: is there already a way to solve this in Blender. Or should all shaping be done in Daz, and Blender remains just for … rendering?

Proposal: it would be usefull to have an automated way to have some kind of partial shapekey applied to each attached mesh, and the cenreal slider for the custom morph to control tem all.

In the morphs section there’s transfer jcms and transfer other morphs. That are intended to transfer the figure morphs to outfits and hair. In general though you bake the main shape in the dbz file, because blender can’t deform the armature to fit it to the figure shape the same as daz studio does. I mean for example the animation of a human turning into a werewolf where the armature shapes with the body.

This is a blender limit though, not a plugin limit. And if you ask me the morphing armature is a very specific feature of genesis that I believe is not implemented in max or maya either.

Ok, thank very much for the answer. Thransfer other morphs did the job. Sorry I’m using this a forum, but if feels much more alive and competent than the 2 other forums that exist (in BA and in Daz frums).

You may also like add shrinkwrap in the advanced setup > visibility panel. It fits the outfits to the figure without the need to transfer morphs. It works fine enough in most cases though of course it’s not the same as a custom morph. See #226.
