I suppose it is related how convert rig to MHX, then will it cause difference from rigs which generted before?😶

I already generate 2 mhx rigs with 9714ea0 (change custom shape) , and 9543810 drastically improve the foot rig posing and IK FK conversion for g3 figure MHX. then hope to know detail about 9dfd781.

(if it only matter when we add K chain (option) then convert to MHX , or it change default rig (without simple IK) conversion too?

(I am now re-order rig and mesh variation as library file, with material for one character, so hope to know If I may better to convert MHX with the recent commits or not)

    If the original bone is connected to its parent, the corresponding FK and IK bones in MHX are connected too. Connected bones don’t have location locks.

    The idea is that we can use Auto IK in MHX too. For Auto IK to work, the bones in the IK chain must be connected. You can do that with Connect IK Chains. Now the corresponding MHX bones are also connected, and the FK hands and feet are not locked, so Auto IK works with MHX.

    Ah thanks so you means if I add blender auto-IK (I seldom use it long time) for custom pony tail in blender, (after merged or untill merged) then can convert to mhx with keep auto IK for the hair bones ?

    Or do you set auto-IK for other body main bones, and you may think it work better than default converted MHX ?(it already offer stable IK chain for limbs. but eg you may plan to add it for fingers etc? )

    I could understand what you means, but I can not imagine real case when I may use..so if you have some case please teach me.

    (I hope to keep enhance imporrted cahacter rig ^^)

    mmm,,, I still do not know when I may use “Connect IK chains” untill convert MHX. and the merit.

    so hope to know your work flow, how to use it correctly and will convert as MHX,

    at current I keep default rig (without IK options added) , then usually when I need MHX character, I convert it.

    but if there is case we need to set Auto-IK I hope to try it.. (but do not know when I may use it,, I only imagine hair pony tail, or some real grafted tail etc,,)

    Ah OK I may play more with those options (Auto IK and your offered options) then ask again..

    Connect IK Chains was triggered by issue #210. MHX now works the same way, provided that chains have been connected before you do the conversion.

    Ah I see, actually I usually not use Auto IK (because it do not offer me to use pole target, so middle IK chain bones not pose I expected,and can not adjust it without move tail bone.which I set auto-IK.

    at same time I forget you already offer options to add IK goal etc,, I have not test those options, so did not know clear what this commit change.

    anyway I found the Connect IK chain is useful to edit thanks, 😀
