Merge rig transfer custom prop and rig-driver to merged one when it need.

At current untill import morph (for cloth or body, or grafted item), we need to merge rigs.

But there is case, we import morph (or jcm) for mesh, then generate driver for shape keys link with current rig.

eg some prop or rig weapon sometimes not “fit to” but use as separate rig with mesh. or there is case you may keep the actor rig and hair rig separately. (so it can easy exchange)

Though basically, the principle “we merge rig untill import any morph” but if merge-rig can auto transfer driver relation of both rig (and mesh) to merged rig, should be useful.

(it may offer free to use merge rig when we need,) you can import individual morphs or jcms for each mesh and self rig without merge. (that means anytime you can append costume ,hair as separate rig and mesh) then can merge to current character base body rig)

I understand, most of case we need not, but I suppose Thomas can do it with mix function. So hope “merge rig” can remain all driver for shape keys , pose controll.

Most useful case should be rig type hair morphs. (like pony tail movements) . lets think your actor may have 3 type hair, then if you merge those, your rig always have 3 type addtional pose bone which fit to the hair mesh. (pony tail bones, twin tail bones, and another hair style bones etc), So we may hope to merge rigs only about hair which currently used.

Same thing may happen for some armor part etc.
