select strands by width ?

Issue #329 resolved
Alessandro Padovani created an issue

It is reported in the daz forum a number of hair having thin strands to simulate stray hair. An example is the Monica hair for G8F. In this case it would be nice to have a tool to select those thin strands, so that we can convert them separately to single strands without children, as opposed to wide strands that need children for filling.

I’m not aware of any way we can do it with the blender standard tools. I mean, we can select wires with the “non manifold” option, but I see no way to select thin strands.

Fixed in latest commit. The condition is that the third longest edge of each face much be shorter than the specified threshold. The idea is that each face has two long edges, and the rest must be short.

Commit 2019614 works great. We can easily select thin strands to convert them separately. Marking as resolved. Thank you Thomas for the fast fix.
