major hierarchy bug when exporting dressed characters

Issue #61 resolved
Alessandro Padovani created an issue

Tested with daz studio 4.12.0.86, blender 2.82a, plugin commit 09c9080

It seems the plugin gets a major bug when exporting dressed characters. I tried a G3F with the Toulouse armor. After the dbz execution ends the character outfit is messed up. Then when the scene is imported in blender we get a displaced outfit.

I guess this may have something to do with commit 6358404 that cleared world transformations to better import instances. But I can’t tell for sure.

Below the example first daz then blender, scene included.

Sigh. I tested with a dressed character at rest and a posed nude character, but not with a posed dressed character. Clearing the space transformations on export has been disabled. Accordingly, instancing does not work with dbz fitting anymore, but that seems less important. And very complex instancing still does not work, e.g. the one in issue #54, even unmorphed fitting. It has something to do with instances of objects where the pivot point is not the object center, but I haven’t been able to construct a simple example that triggers the problem.

So for the time being instances only work with unmorphed fitting, and not perfectly then either.

umh .. The old instances in 2.79 worked fine though at least in my examples and with no issues for characters that I’m aware of. So it must be something new in 2.80 I guess .. I certainly agree that characters are more important than instances .. though environments may be rigged and morphed too so I don’t see too much of a difference.

    Marking as resolved.
