I have a problem when I export HD mesh from daz to blender i use export to blender hd, yes, in blender addon create two collections everything is fine, but the rig works only on a regular mesh, it does not move the HD mesh. How I can fix this? Somebody help me please. Also I wanted to say that the author of the addon that he created an incredibly cool addon.

Only HD meshes with a multires modifier can be posed, because they have the same vertex groups as the base mesh. True HD meshes can not be posed because the HD vertex groups are not exported from DS.

The HD mesh is imported as multires. So if the rig doesn’t work it means either that multires can’t unsubdivide the mesh, or that you have the option disabled in the global settings. It may happen that multires can’t unsubdivide some geometries this is a limit in blender though, and in this case you should get an error.

edit. As an alternative you may also try the HD addon by Xin #357.

Actually, you can use the Advanced Setup > Mesh > Transfer Vertex Groups tool, from the base mesh to a true HD mesh. You need to add an armature modifier manually too. And you can use Setup > Morphs > Transfer Shapekeys to transfer any JCMs to the HD mesh.

That said, I think posing a true HD mesh is a bad idea. Probably very slow and there may be creases.

As Thomas said, getting the vertex weights from the base mesh through applying a subdivision modifier in Blender won’t work well. The interpolation will give artifacts, and the transfer will be quite slow.

For a proper subdivision/interpolation of vertex weights, you could use #357 , as Alessandro said.
