Error on Import.

Issue #803 resolved
Alexander Styliaras created an issue

I just updated to Blender 3 and my Daz to 4.16 and downloaded the latest stable version of diffeomorphic. I went through the usual setup of the plugin and dropped the character to base resolution and SubD 0 on everything (both character and clothing). I then exported it using the ‘Export to Blender’ option, not the HD one and went over to Blender to import. I get this error on import.

I then uninstalled the plugin from both Blender and Daz and tried the export again, this time using the latest development version 1.6.1, tried importing again and I had the same exact error. After some googling I found out it was reported before as an issue and it was fixed, but without any details if the person reporting it was doing something wrong on their side, so I decided to report it.

Last time I used Diffeomorphic 1.6, I was on Blender 2.93 and 4.15 Daz and it worked perfectly, with the same install procedure I used now for both 1.6 and 1.6.1 installs.

Edit: Obviously, the attached image is from the latest development version since it was the latest that I tested, but the error was the same, just the path names differ between the two.

Update: Apparently it’s an issue with the specific scene. Trying to export another (earlier) scene of the same model, works. I’ll have to dig deeper into it but will keep it updated once I figure out what is causing this.

This is a problem with layered images. Support for layered images was buggy in version 1.6.0, but has recently been improved considerably, so I suggest that you use the development version instead.
