Issue #816 resolved
MakLs created an issue

Hello!,

Please i am having problem with victoria 8.1 HD and new genitalia

put Glossy layered weight to zero fix the issue on daz

but when i transfer to blender the issue is not fixed and this is how it looks like:

merge geograft and merge uv layer, does not fix the issue…

how to fix it, please in daz it’s fixed.

I can’t reproduce the issue here. Everything works fine both in daz studio and blender. May be you have a old version of NGV8 that doesn’t support G81, please update to the latest version.

edit. oops .. Sorry I was testing with G8.1F, I see there’s a glitch with Victoria 8.1 because the NGV8 material script doesn’t support the new pbrskin shader. You have to convert yourself the NGV8 material from uber to pbrskin, to do it just select the NGV8 geograft and apply the pbrskin shader in the shader presets. This is a bug in the NGV8 script.

Once you convert to pbrskin everything works fine both in daz studio and blender.

    steps:

    1. apply the NGV8 genitalia (run the NGV8 script)
    2. convert the NGV8 material to pbrskin
    3. update the NGV8 material (run the NGV8 material script)

Thank you, but i can’t find this Iray Daz PBRSkin where to find it please?

    edit: found it thanks!

Check that NGV8 gets the pbrskin shader as in my picture above. You need to select both the geograft and the surface for the shader to apply.

Something strange is going on with NGV8, even when applied to a regular G8F character. When the asset is imported, the render UV map is the Default UVs rather than Base Female. This does not affect rendering per se, since the materials get their UVs from named UV map nodes, but the Merge Geograft tool merges the active render UV maps by default. Which means that the Default UVs are merged with the body UVs rather than Base Female. Must investigate further.

Merge Geografts no longer merges the render UV maps by default, so this is also the behaviour of Easy Import. This seems to work both for NGV8, GP and headlights, so it is a better default. This means that there are extra UV layers after merging, but they only matter for the geograft materials that had them from the start.

I still have problems with the NGV8 color and effect layers, but there is a brutal way to get rid of them in Blender: simply replace the genitals and anus materials with the torso material. You will lose the info from the layers, but there is a smooth transition from torso to geograft, which is more important.

After the geograft has been merged, select the genitalia and anus faces in edit mode, then assign the torso material to the selection.

As for commit c20f8fe I can’t reproduce the issue here, the color and effect layers work fine for me. Test scene included ngv8.duf, it’s Victoria 8 with NGV8 and the extra shells used for color and effects. Below first iray then cycles.

    steps:

    1. import the test scene ngv8.duf
    2. merge rigs
    3. merge geografts

the commit is for easy import right?

merge uv is super important though, no need mess up thing for this, works fine with torso as thomas said 😃

Easy import invokes various tools with their default parameters, unless the parameter is displayed among the import options, so changing the default also changes the behaviour of Easy import. It is not really important that UVs are merged if you stay in Blender, and doing it automatically obviously merges the wrong UV layers sometimes. Since there is a separate tool for merging uvs if you really want to, I will remove it as an option in Merge Geografts.

If the option is disabled, uv layers with the same name seem to be merged anyway, e.g. Base Female of G8F and NGV8. In GP and headlights the underlying torso uv layer is called Default UVs instead, and it is not merged wtih Base Female. But as said above, you can then merge the UV layers with the other tool manually.

Alessandro, it is my model that is corrupt. The cutout opacity maps are missing in DS. Your file works fine.

I just realized that you don’t need to reassign vertices to other material slots. Better to change the materials of the genitalia and anus slots to torso.
