Fit Control morphs not imported!

Issue #827 resolved
bouich jules created an issue

Hello,

This amazing plugin: Fit Control Add-On for Genesis 3 & 8 Female | Daz 3D , is not working when you import the cloth with the morphs with the plugin.

i tried all the fit control morphs, works perfectly on daz but not on blender ( the morph can’t be imported to cloth) so no shapekey are created.

Thank you!

i really dont know how its possible to fix.. but this fit controll addon is really a must for clothing on daz.

because let’s say the top cloth have fit control morphs, and the bottom also have morphs, the morphs are similar name but they move the top and bottom cloth differently.

Will see how Thomas you can think about it and make it work will be really amazing!

    thank you so much.

Without having looked at this plugin, it strikes me that you talk about different morphs with similar names. Morph suffixes were introduce to deal with such situations. Did you look into that?

yes i’ve tried it, it doesnt work.

really you never looked at this plugin? wow it’s really super intersting it can make a ton of morph for cloth.

but it doesn’t work with diffeo untill now.

Fit control morphs are made for the G8 characters, not for the clothing directly.

First you have to import these morphs to your character, then transfer to the clothing and finally delete/disable these on your character and you can create rig drivers.

yes i tried import to the G8, then after use the transfershapekey but didnt work.

    also how to disable?

and in this case how can we apply the morph suffixes?

    thank you!!

ok it work, but it’s locked on 0.010

also please how to remove it from the G8 ? and how to apply the suffixes in this case?

    thanks again.

    ok what i did is:

imported the morphs to the G8 as suggested by jeroen, then i transfer the shapekey to cloth all good, then instead of disable ( i dont know how) i have apply shapekey ONLY to the mesh. and it works perfect now.

    however there is 2 questions;
how in this case apply suffixe for each cloth that i have on the mesh.

    and how to change this:

the maximum you have is 0.010

    thank you!

You can change the morphs limits in the global settings. But if it’s 0.01 max it probably means it’s the same in daz since by default the plugin takes the daz limits. Be sure to get the latest version since there were recent fixes on this.

As for deleting the morphs on the figure you can use the “apply all shapekeys“ tool in the morphs panel. But this will delete all shapekeys so be sure to do this before importing animation morphs as expressions and jcms.

Not sure what Jeroen means by “create rig drivers“, as I understand it this shouldn’t be necessary. But I’m not a rig expert.

    Excuse me for being unclear.

What I mean is that you should import & transfer these morphs before doing anything else immediately after importing a DAZ scene. Since these morphs have no function on the character after transfer to the clothing, you should delete them from the character using the shape-key panel in Blender (alternatively you could disable them also in this panel)

Applying these fit-control shapes can be risky, it could permanently deform your character if not set to zero.

After that you can go ahead finishing your scene as usual, importing JCM’s, create drivers etc. etc.

thank you so much jeroen and alessandro for clear explanation all good now!

just one small liltte question, how to apply the suffixes ? because this is mostly transfer shapekey.

i have 2 different cloth, and i dont want move them same time.

    thank you again!

Thank you but this link thomas already sent me, you don’t need send it again that’s not what we want here.

here we need create suffixes for the function transfer shapekey, because you can’t import those custom morphs directly to the cloth, you need import them to G8 as what jeroen clearly explained.

  12. Alessandro Padovani

What do you mean ? Transfer shapekeys takes the names from the source, not the target, so the suffixes are there. You create the suffixes when you load the morphs on the figure, then transfer the morphs with their names.

    Unless I miss something.

@bouich jules, these zev0 morphs are nice in DS, but frankly it is way faster to add a shapekey to a cloth, dial it to 1, and then use the sculpt mode to fix any poke through. This method is light weight and more exact compared to carrying all these morphs you only need once 😁

Yes I agree, it is kinda “foolish”, with no offence, to try to force the daz workflow in blender in general, since blender gets its own ways to do things that are often better. I had this kind of discussions again and again mostly with experienced daz users who wanted the same exact thing in blender because they were used to it in daz. That honestly makes little sense, at least to me.
