Unable to merge Geograft with errors: 'No weights for lThighTwist' and 'No Geograft Selected'

Issue #834 resolved

Hello! Thank you for this wonderful plugin. I’ve been using it for quite some time with no issues whatsover. However, I usually work with female figures (G3F/G8F), and I just started running into a problem with G8M.

I’ve tried to puzzle it out and research possible solutions myself for a couple of days and hit a brick wall.

Whenever I try to import G8M (Either a custom morphed, or just the base figure) with the Dicktator genitalia attached, I receive two errors.

First: “ERROR: No weights for lThighTwist in Dicktator Genitalia.001”

Second: later when I try to Merge Geografts: “ERROR: No geografts selected”

This does not happen with an alternative Anatomy geograft that I have. And I never have any problems with the G8F geografts. I did some tests with the others that I own and they all merge fine.

When I first received the initial error, about the missing weights, I didn’t anticipate it being a real problem, but I’m beginning to think that this is the source of the issue.

The import will finish after the first error, but the heirarchy in the blender file is strange. Usually the eyelashes and geografts armatures are children of the main Genesis 8 Male armature. Instead it looks like the following image:

If I merge the rigs that seems to work fine, but subsequently if I select the ‘Genesis 8 Male’ and ‘Dicktator Genitalia’ meshes, and click 'Merge Geografts', it then gives me the second error:

Notes:

I recently installed Genesis 8 Male and the latest version of the Dicktator product. They load fine in Daz with no errors.

I also installed the latest version of Diffeomorphic as of yesterday (1/8/2022).

I have also tried loading Blender in Factory mode and loading only the Diffeomorphic plugins during the import, but this gives the same result.

Thanks!

EDIT:

I have just run another test, this time with G8F and the ‘Futalicious’ model (Which is the Dicktator model designed to fit with Female Figures), and it is giving me the same exact problems as above. This leads me to believe there is some problem with the weighting of the geograft figures (Because of the first error) and that is causing the rest to fail….

I get the messages about missing weights too, but that is normal and not really an error. These warnings should probably not be visible at normal verbosity levels.

No problem to merge the geograft here. However, I can trigger your error message, by first pressing Finalize Meshes. That tool removes information needed for merging geografts, and some other stuff too which slows down posing once the character is finished.

    Thomas,
Thanks for the reply. I updated diffeomorphic to the latest version once again and just tried to recreate the problem, now everything is working fine. So sorry for the false alarm!
