Translucency menu not opening when using version 1.6.1.0798 and Blender 3.0.1

Issue #888 resolved
Arthur Dent created an issue

Clicking on Launch Material Editor and then choosing anything except “Bump And Normal” does not show the sub menu

The only item that works is the Bump And Normal

Is this just my installation that is acting weird or is this a possible UI bug ?

I am using using 1.6.1.0798 and Blender 3.0.1 (Stable) and Blender 3.2 (Alpha)

Does the active material (Face-3) have a DAZ Translucent node? Otherwise there is nothing to show. Also, the bluish material preview looks strange.

Ah yes you’re right. There is no DAZ Translucency node generated in the Blender shader editor after I exported my character. The blue material is the result of me applying a blue tint material with SSS from “Fantastic Skins” on my Genesis 8.1 Female, (and I suspect that is the cause of the missing node)

I was following your instructions here http://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/2021/06/voluminosity-and-material-editor.html to improve the look, but I guess the steps are only applicable for a character’s original skin and not when used with the above mentioned product.

The material editor edits the nodes that are already present, but it doesn’t add any new nodes to the material.

Understood. Thank you for clarifying and for the quick responses.

I note that the UI of the Translucency group is slightly different than the one shown in the page I linked before. The Translucency color and the SSS Color have been replaced with one Color picker box. I assume that does not change anything when selecting the SSS color ?
