Exporting FBX with Face Cap or Live Link mocap

Issue #892 invalid
VP created an issue

Hi, I imported some face mocap (tried both live link and face cap) files with diffeo and I’m trying to export them out to Unreal.

I referred to https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/import_daz/issues/297/unwind-actions and http://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/2020/12/unwinding-actions.html to bake action.

I tried exporting in FBX to Unreal. In Unreal I can see the curve values but the morph target itself has no response if I drag the sliders values.

May I know how can I make sure the shapekeys with drivers / driven by bones are included/”baked”? (sorry not sure what’s the rightword for it…) Thanks!!

perhaps let me rephrase my question, actually the main problem I have is how can I ensure the face mocap (both live link and face cap) files imported with diffeo can be exported along with the FBX?

Therefore I was referring to those two diffeo links on bake actions but was unable to save those into the FBX file.

Unreal is just one of the other software I used to verify whether the FBX file contains the animation. I also tried to use Autodesk FBX Review to verify and see not all the morph targets are included.

As explained in #297 you have to disable the plugin after baking, or it will take control over the baked actions. Once disabled the plugin doesn’t come into play anymore and if the fbx exporter doesn’t work then it may be a bug in blender but this is better asked at the blender forum.
