Hello,

I have noticed that before we had the option to merge uv layer when we want to merge geographt, this option disappeared while it was usefull.

there is a merge uv layer under but it seems it’s not working properly.

Thank you!

it’s just too complicated and confusing

you dont know what to do.

before used to be very quick.

sorry re-open i tested with the old fuction with an old version of plugin which contain the merge layer in the merge geo, and this new version of the plugin they are not similar.

i feel merge uv layer doesn't work same as before.

IIRC it was removed because in some cases it was difficult to figure out which layers to merge. It is easy enough if the base layers of both the body and the geograft have the same name, but this is not always the case. In your example, both Base Female (1) and Default UVs (2) should be merged with Base 8.1 Female (0), which clearly don’t have the same names. Previously I assumed that the first UV layer would be the base layer, but then I found an asset where this wasn’t true. So the option was removed because sometimes the wrong layers were merged.

Strictly speaking, you don’t have to merge layers, but sometimes this doesn’t work either. Especially I found problems when GP is combined with other geoshells. My solution is usually to replace the GP_Torso material with the Torso material, but that only works if the UV layers have been merged.

is it possible to add it back as “advanced setup” ?

actually i know it’s really mandatory to merge layer for blender, but when you want transfer your model to a game engine it became mandatory.

what i do now actually i import the model with most recent plugin, then have to back to the old version for merge geo and layer then come back to the recent one.

    Thanks anyways!

The option has been restored, together with a warning in the description that it may merge the wrong uv layers in some cases.
