IK Stretching issue for rigify

Issue #935 resolved
Che Psy created an issue

Thanks for Thomas first, this issue is not a bug for import_daz but for rigify, when i use ik to key animation, my leg turn short, but when i use fk, it work fine, the picture shows the differece:

i do set “IK Stretch“ to 0,

my right leg is using ik, left leg is using fk, obviously they have different length.

Anyone have the same issue and what is the solution? Plz tell me, Tons of Thanks!

Is that a male figure and did you hit “Optimize Pose for IK” before converting to Rigify?

it is female figure, i use easy import without “Optimize Pose for Ik“.

As Midnight says, in general you have to “optimize for ik“ because rigify relies on prebended joints and some daz figures are just not prebended enough. Or you can try the “ik fix“ in the rigify panel but it doesn’t always work because requires a minimal prebending too. Using “ik fix”, if it works, is better because it preserves compatibility with daz poses and animations.

Then of course you can also prebend the joints yourself in edit mode.

    See #498 for details.
