various issues I've encountered.

Issue #43 resolved
Michael Robinson created an issue

system:

windows 10 pro (x64) 21h1

intel core i9-7900X

64gb 3200mhz vengance pro rgb ram

nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Founders edition

game is installed to the steam library on my software raid 0 2x samsung 970 evo nvme drives.

issue 1: game will hang after every battle when it is doing what it presumably does to calculate experience points. the audio will continue to play, however sometimes it sits there looping with just the background and the character portraits showing but no experience points bars. sometimes it sits there part way through the process with all ui elements present and then when it resumes

it recalculates the experience points and finishes adjusting the experience points bars.

issue 2: game crashed to desktop when zoning.

issue 3: sometimes the game will start with choppy, off pitch, distorted audio. This will continue throughout play. I don’t know if this is a problem with the engine itself, but I haven’t encountered it on any other rpg maker mv based game so far.

other than steam, nothing else is running outside of normal background operations. I have not found the issue with any other game so far.

issue 4: when I try to use the in game debug, the game exits full screen and sits there with a window containing only the title bar with the contents of the window being plain white. seems to be hanging. Eventually it goes back to full screen with button mashing out of desperation, and the game continues as normal (assuming that issue 3 isn’t active).

issue 5: Isha’s sprite seems slightly off position on the sprite sheet.

issue 6: One of the enemies in the desert area is also slightly off position on its sprite sheet.

    Thanks for reporting 😊

The game hanging is a rare glitch with Yanfly's victory screen.
Not sure why the audio thing, that's a new one. I'll send an updated NWJS and see if that helps.

"game crashed to desktop when zoning." The ingame zoom? That's odd hmm, was it a one off occurrence or can you replicate it?

By debug, are you referring to the debug option in game that links you to the bug report site? If so, yeah, the [website itself for some reason] stopped letting me link to it for some unknown reason. I plan to update the game and change it at some point.

The sprite fixes I'll get to another time (if they haven't already been fixed, I can't recall)

For now, I'll send you the most updated version of the game (I'll be releasing it soon), with removing the yanfly victory screen, and using an updated NWJS.
Just (make a backup of your current files first) replace the existing files with these ones.

Let me know if that helps your performance issues 🙂
    Thank you for reporting!

I managed to recreate the issue entirely accidentally. It happened on both occassions when I used the flight ocarina, it lagged the animation briefly and whitened the screen at which point it hung and crashed to desktop after a brief period without any error message.

I think I applied the patch incorrectly. copied and pasted files from .rar to the game folder.

that being said, the sound didn’t glitch when I launched the game after patching.

this broke my copy of the game. it errors out in battle as soon as anyone takes an action.

    I can’t seem to get it back to the previous state either for some reason ; ;

tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I get the same error in battle the momment anyone tries to attack

    Oops, so sorry, my apologies.
I’d added a new scene to the battle system and apparently didn’t include its graphics in the patch. Sincerely sorry, my bad!

Here, add this to the www folder

For the Ocarina crashing the game, try turning on the games Memory settings in the options. That SHOULDN’T be a problem given your specs, but give it a try just in case it’s a memory leak thing.

I no longer crash in battle, the victory screen seems to have disappeared. 1 of the crashes was with the memory settings in options turned on I think. will test and get back to you^^ on a side note I’ve really been enjoying this game, thankyou for all the work you 2 do 🙂

I’ve not managed to make it crash with calling the airship since this patch, but it feels strange without the victory screen

did the update on steam, did 2 or 3 battles during new game plus in the jungle near the kitsune village. first battle the victory screen worked corrrectly. last battle which had a different mob grouping hung on the victory screen for a good 30 seconds playing the theme over and over till it had finished counting xp. will load a different save and try it elsewhere.

same issue on a non-game plus save in chopokolon canyon in the first encounter this time.

seeing a spriting error on the veggiedish in chopokolon canyon also. it’s tentacle appears at the far left of its sprite when idle, also part of the bottom of the sprite appears above it during an attacking animation of some sort. task manager shows ram usage at relatively low, it lost 100mb of ram usage once the counting had finished. gonna do another battle and keep an eye on it

this time I saw a 400mb difference once I had come out of the victory screen.

    hope this helps^^

Let me know if this works for you (overwrite the file)

As the bug doesn't occur on any of my PCs it's a rather hard bug to troubleshoot. it seems like a hardware but though I'm not sure of the specifics that cause it.

Other things suggested to try: Close any browsers/programs that are open

As for the others, I'll take a look at them at a later time :)

But do let me know if this helps. I changed the tick value which was one of the suggested fixes I'd found.
